A longtime member of the Tualatin community, we enjoy the opportunity to bring a high level of service to our friends and neighbors every day. Martín Vírgen

Executive Chef

A native of Manzanillo, Mexico, Chef Martín’s passion for food came from his mother. Growing up, she taught him how to make dishes native to the Mexican state of Colima and instilled in him a respect for the different dishes you can create with strong culinary skills. With 29 years of Oregon restaurant experience under his belt, Chef Martín has developed a unique ability to take simple ingredients and create a culinary masterpiece that his mother would undoubtedly be proud of.

Talai Punivai

General Manager & Wine Program Director

Hailing from the Islands, with a long career in high-end customer service, Talai has worked at some of Oregon’s most iconic restaurants, including Portland’s historic Huber’s Café.  Growing up around his parents’ large families, Talai learned what it took to be “The host with the most” from his dad, who loved to entertain, invite people to their home and always ensured he cooked more than his guests could ever eat. Born with that sense of hospitality in his blood and a deep passion for the restaurant industry and the teams he works with, Talai makes everyone who walks into his dining room feel welcome and cared for.

Tracy Laird

Assistant General Manager

With 8 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Assistant General Manager Tracy Laird loves being able to put on a smile on the face of each person who walks through our front door. Born in Taiwan, Tracy has called Oregon home for the last 14 years and enjoys our fresh, local Pacific Northwest cuisine as much as she loves sharing it with our customers. Tracy brings a sense of fresh, fun professionalism to our team and our dining atmosphere at Haydens!

Angel Nelson

Director of Sales, Catering & Banquets

With over 23 years of customer service experience, Angel has a unique eye for the small touches that make a big difference to the customer and dining experience. As our Director of Sales and Catering, she can take the smallest flicker of an idea and develop it into a full-fledged community event or corporate experience. As a child, many of her family events were centered around sharing food. She was fortunate to grow up with parents who were amazing hosts and taught her how to always make everyone feel comfortable and happy, a skill she brings to our team at Hayden’s every day.
